FAAC distributes N1.681 trln to FG, states and LGs from April revenue

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has disbursed a total of ₦1.681 trillion to the Federal, State, and Local Government Councils from the revenue generated in April 2025.

 

The distribution, chaired by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, was made from a gross revenue of ₦2.848 trillion.

The allocated sum includes Gross Statutory Revenue, Value Added Tax (VAT), Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), and Exchange Difference.

The federal government received the largest share at ₦565.307 billion, followed by the states with ₦556.741 billion and the local government councils with ₦406.627 billion.

Oil-producing states received ₦152.553 billion as derivation revenue, representing 13% of mineral revenue.

A total of ₦101.051 billion was allocated for the cost of collection, while a substantial ₦1.066 trillion was earmarked for transfers, intervention, and refunds.

According to the communique issued by FAAC, the gross revenue from Value Added Tax (VAT) for April 2025 amounted to ₦642.265 billion, an increase of ₦4.647 billion compared to the ₦637.618 billion distributed in the preceding month.

From this VAT revenue, ₦25.691 billion was allocated for collection costs, and ₦18.497 billion was designated for transfers, intervention, and refunds.

 

The remaining ₦598.077 billion was distributed among the three tiers of government, with the Federal Government receiving ₦89.712 billion, the States ₦299.039 billion, and Local Government Councils ₦209.327 billion.

The Gross Statutory Revenue for April 2025 stood at ₦2.084 trillion, significantly higher than the ₦1.718 trillion received in the previous month by ₦365.595 billion.

From this amount, ₦73.741 billion was allocated for collection costs, and ₦1.047 trillion was allocated for transfers, intervention, and refunds.

The remaining balance of ₦962.882 billion was distributed as follows: Federal Government ₦431.307 billion, States ₦218.765 billion, Local Government Councils ₦168.659 billion, and Derivation Revenue (13% to Mineral Producing States) ₦144.151 billion.

The Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) contributed ₦40.481 billion, of which ₦38.862 billion was distributed to the three tiers of government: Federal Government ₦5.829 billion, States ₦19.431 billion, and Local Government Councils ₦13.602 billion. The remaining ₦1.619 billion was allocated for the cost of collection.

Additionally, an exchange difference of ₦81.407 billion was distributed, with the Federal Government receiving ₦38.459 billion, the States ₦19.507 billion, Local Government Councils ₦15.039 billion, and Oil Producing States ₦8.402 billion.

The communique noted significant increases in Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT), Oil and Gas Royalty, Value Added Tax (VAT), Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), Excise Duty, Import Duty, and CET Levies, while Company Income Tax (CIT) recorded a decrease.

The total distributable revenue for April 2025, amounting to ₦1.681 trillion, was derived from Statutory Revenue (₦962.882 billion), Value Added Tax (VAT) (₦598.077 billion), Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) (₦38.862 billion), and Exchange Difference (₦81.407 billion).
