The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas says Nigerians should be “proud of the NYSC Scheme for its achievement in the unifying and integrating citizens.”
He made the call today at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam, Tai local govt. Area, when he presided over the swearing in ceremony of 2025 Batch A Stream I Corps Members deployed to the State.
The SOLAD who was represented by the Secretary to the Rivers State government, Professor Ibibia Worika, described the NYSC Scheme as a vehicle for nation building and development, while commending its managers for their commitment, dedication and hard work at improving the operations of the Scheme to meet contemporary technology needs of the 21st century graduate youths.

He further charged the Corps Members to “repay Nigerians the trust reposed in them as the successor generation to restore the country to the part of honor, dignity and prosperity.”
In his welcome address, the State Co-ordinator, NYSC Rivers State, Mr. Moses Oleghe enjoined the Corps Members to make “honest and patriotic sacrifices that will engender rapid economic growth and peace in the country.”

Mr. Oleghe also used the occasion to commend the Corps Members for demonstrating high sense of commitment to adapt to the rigors of the orientation exercise and realize its objectives.
A total of 2018 Corps Members comprising 752 males and 1266 females were sworn in at the occasion by Hon. Margaret Opara who represented the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Hon. Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi.
Two corps members, Loveliness Uchenna and Oisebari Briget described the experience in camp so far as exciting and hoping to grab at least a skill at the orientation program.
