Two children feared dead as explosion rocks Kaduna

Tragedy struck the Abakpa area of Kaduna on Tuesday as an explosion claimed the lives of two children and left three others injured.

The victims have been identified as 13-year-old Imam and six-year-old Nasrin. The explosion, which occurred around two kilometers from the old site of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), sent shockwaves through the densely populated community.

The exact cause of the blast remains unclear as of the time of filing this report. However, security operatives have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to determine the source and nature of the explosion.

An eyewitness, who resides near the scene, recounted the horrific moment: “The explosion happened very close to my house. I rushed out when I heard the sound and saw Imam. I tried to take him to the hospital, but sadly, he died before we got there.”

The incident has sparked panic among residents, with many still reeling in shock and uncertainty.
