Dr Timilehin Ajayi
The Lagos State government has been challenged to engage Safety professionals, that would profile drivers in the state, so as to reduce incessant accidents on the roads.
A fellow of the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria, Dr. Timi Ajayi, who threw the challenge, while featuring on RadioOne breakfast show, also recommended aggressive sensitization on the State Transport laws and policies.
He blamed the various accidents on Lagos roads on human factors, which he said encompasses the failure of government to provide good roads, impatience by drivers and use of rickety vehicles.
Dr Ajayi urged the state government to encourage volunteers as Road Marshalls for traffic management, and check the excesses of some officials, who are on duty for personal gains.
