Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has revealed that he has received over 400 threats following threat claims made by Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

In an interview with ARISE NEWS on Wednesday, Morka stated that more than 200 of these threats are death threats, some of which include graphic details of how individuals intend to harm him.

He said, “I have documented no less than 400 threats about over 200 of which are death threats.

“This is not a joke, and it’s gone further to some members of my family who have also been threatened directly.”

Despite the threats, he maintained that he was not concerned, emphasising that the blame for the escalating situation should not fall on him.

“What has triggered this entire insanity cannot be attributed to me. I did not threaten Peter Obi,” he asserted.

The APC spokesperson also urged law enforcement to take appropriate action against those making threats.

He also pointed out that he has been targeted with threats from individuals who openly express allegiance to Peter Obi.

According to Morka, these individuals stated in their messages that they believe his comments amounted to a threat to Obi’s life.

He criticised Obi for not addressing the actions of his supporters, saying, “If I have followers who go around threatening Felix Morka or anyone else for that matter, I would call them to order.”

Morka’s comments come after Obi accused him of threatening his life, claiming that Morka had stated he would “face consequences.”

However, Morka was quick to clarify that his words had been taken out of context.

“I was not speaking in a vacuum. I was responding to a very specific question put to me during that interview,” he explained.

He reiterated that his remarks, which included referring to Obi as a “prophet of doom,” were in direct response to what he considered misleading statements made by Obi on national television.

“I, Felix Morka, did not threaten Peter Obi. Nothing I said in that interview begins to even suggest remotely,” he continued, rejecting Obi’s allegations.

“I speak for my party. When Peter Obi comes on national television, on a New Year’s Day, and reels out a lot of facts that I consider to be misleading, it is my duty as a national spokesman of APC to clarify,” he said, underlining his role as a representative of the APC.
