New beginnings: A divine Opportunity

As the year draws to a close and we stand on the brink of a new one, we are reminded of the beauty of fresh starts.

The Bible often highlights new beginnings as a way for God to show His faithfulness and power to restore, renew, and propel His people into their destinies.
For those willing to become righteous millionaires in the year 2025, here is a simple reminder of things to do right away and in a continuum.

Consider Noah. After the floodwaters receded, he stepped out of the ark into a world wiped clean (Genesis 8:15-17). God gave him a new mandate: “Be fruitful and multiply.”
That moment was not just a fresh start for Noah but a divine opportunity to rebuild on God’s promises. What about you? Do you know that you have the same mandate to be fruitful and to multiply the resources available to you?

Remember also, when the Israelites left Egypt, they weren’t merely escaping bondage; they were stepping into a covenant of abundance and purpose. Although the journey through the wilderness tested their faith, it was a prelude to the land flowing with milk and honey. It was an opportunity for a new beginning. Whatever it is that you are going through, know that it is an opportunity for you to grow your purpose in God.

Every new year offers us divine opportunity to recalibrate our focus and align with God’s plan. It’s a chance to let go of the past and embrace the new (Isaiah 43:18-19): “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”

Know for sure that as a son of God, you are called to Righteous Prosperity.
God delights in the prosperity of His people when it is rooted in righteousness. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 13:22 that “a good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children.” Wealth is not inherently unrighteous; it becomes a tool for advancing God’s kingdom when pursued with integrity.

Reflect on the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30). The servants who multiplied their talents were commended and entrusted with greater responsibilities. The lesson here is clear: God rewards diligence, creativity, and faithful stewardship. As we enter this new year, how are you planning to multiply the talents God has given you? Will you pursue wealth in a way that honors Him and serves others?
Here are some practical steps you should adapt for the coming opportunity of a new beginning tagged New Year.

1. Seek God First: Begin your year with prayer and fasting, seeking divine guidance for your goals. Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” In every endeavor, and opinion and advice and relational issues, ask yourself before taking action; What would Jesus Do? The popular WWJD formula!

2. Set Faith-Based Goals: Write down your vision and make it plain (Habakkuk 2:2). I am assuming you have discovered your Purpose in God. Am also assuming you have crafted your Vision from your Purpose and you have planned your Mission. If you have done the above, then let your goals be both ambitious and anchored in faith. 3. Cultivate a Spirit of Generosity: Proverbs 11:25 reminds us, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” As God blesses you, use your resources to bless others. The fact is; you are an assignment to someone. Just as the tree in your compound gives oxygen that you critically need, you also gives carbon dioxide the tree also needs. Until you give, you can’t receive!

4. Commit to Excellence: Whether in your business, career, or personal development, do everything as unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23). Excellence attracts favor. If Nehemiah was not diligent, he would not have been the cup bearer to the king and wouldn’t have been favored by both the King and the Queen so as to become the governor of Judah from being a cup bearer.

Surround Yourself with Wise Counsel: Proverbs 15:22 teaches us that “plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers, they succeed.” Your journey to becoming a righteous millionaire requires partnerships with mentors and godly friends. In Yoruba gainsaying “Omo to ba mowowe, aaba agba jeun” (The youth who is close to the elders will dine with them).

As you step into the new year, envision it as a blank canvas. What masterpiece will you allow God to paint on it through you? Resolve to walk by faith, take bold steps, and embrace the discipline required to see your goals come to fruition. Remember, the journey to becoming a righteous millionaire isn’t just about personal gain—it’s about becoming a conduit of God’s blessings.

In closing, let’s take to heart the words of Philippians 3:13-14: “But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Let this be your mindset for the new year. Push forward. Trust God. Dream big. And may 2025 be the year you step fully into God’s plan for your life.
