NASS Refutes Claims on 2025 Budget Presentation

The Secretary of Research and Information (SRI) at the National Assembly, Dr. Ali Barde Umoru, has dismissed reports alleging that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will present the 2025 budget to a joint session of the National Assembly tomorrow.

The clarification was signed by Audu Bullah Biallah, Director of Information, on behalf of the SRI.

In the statement, Dr.

Umoru described the news circulating across social and mainstream media as false and baseless. He urged the public to disregard the misinformation, clarifying that the National Assembly has not yet approved the 2024–2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP), which are essential steps before the budget presentation.

The Secretary also stressed the importance of relying on official communication channels for accurate updates regarding National Assembly activities. He warned individuals spreading such falsehoods to desist from using his office to mislead the public.
