President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has approved the immediate implementation of eight transformative actions aimed at enhancing the efficiency and capacity of his administration to meet its commitments to the Nigerian people.
These actions include:
1. Renaming of the Ministry of Niger Delta Development to the Ministry of Regional Development. The new ministry will oversee the activities of all regional development commissions, including the Niger Delta Development Commission, the South East Development Commission, the North East Development Commission, and the North West Development Commission.
2. Winding up of the Ministry of Sports Development, with its functions transferred to the National Sports Commission to foster a more vibrant sports economy.
3. Merger of the Federal Ministry of Tourism and the Federal Ministry of Arts and Culture, forming the new Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy.
4. Reassignment of ten ministers to new portfolios.
5. Discharge of five ministers from their duties.
6. Nomination of seven new ministers, whose names will be forwarded to the Senate for confirmation.
7. Appointment of Shehu Dikko as Chairman of the National Sports Commission.
8. Appointment of Sunday Akin Dare as Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation, under the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.

1. Hon. Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu – From Minister of State, Education to Minister of State, Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
2. Dr. Morufu Olatunji Alausa – From Minister of State, Health to Minister of Education.
3. Barr. Bello Muhammad Goronyo – From Minister of State, Water Resources and Sanitation to Minister of State, Works.
4. Hon. Abubakar Eshiokpekha Momoh – From Minister of Niger Delta Development to Minister of Regional Development.
5. Uba Maigari Ahmadu – From Minister of State, Steel Development to Minister of State, Regional Development.
6. Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite – From Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment to Minister of State, Finance.

President Tinubu thanked the outgoing members of the Federal Executive Council for their service and wished them well in their future endeavors. He also urged the newly appointed ministers and those reassigned to their new roles to view their appointments as a call to serve the nation. The President emphasized that every appointee must understand the administration’s determination to set Nigeria on a path of irreversible growth and to work diligently toward achieving the government’s priorities.
