The Yankee Babes of USA on Monday morning in Cali, Columbia succeeded in introducing virus into the German Machine that completely wrecked the machine making Germany to lose 1-3 on penalties after a dramatic 2-2 draw at extra time.
The Germans wept like babies after South Korean Ref, Oh Hyeon-jeong blew the whistle to confirm the match is over.
Football lovers saw American magic in Cali when Germany lost two goals advantage as Cora Zicai scored Germany’s first goal via penalty at the 61st minute and Loreen Bender scored the 2nd goal for Germany in 90+2 minute of extra time.

Then came the virus moment that USA scored two stunning quick goals within 60 seconds, first through Jordynn Dudley (who came in for Tordin in the 63rd minute) that scored at exactly 90+8 minute and at 90+9 minute Sentnor equalized 2-2 to drag the game into penalty shootout.
The Americans scored their three kicks through Sentnor, Kienke and Jackson while Germany lost all her kicks except the first one taken by Veit. Platner, Diehm and Sehitler lost their kicks.
The Germans sat on the turf like a motherless child wondering how the Americans gave them the virus but the Americans went to encourage them probably with Ngugi Wa Thiongo’s WEEP NOT CHILD. It said in part, “weep not child, weep not my darling, with this kisses let me remove your tears…”
Thus the Germans who have been in every edition of the competition thought upon as potential winners after defending Champions, Spain were sent out earlier gave way to the Americans who will now meet North Korea on Wednesday.
The German Machine and USA met thrice with Germany winning twice and America winning once where Germany scored 5 goals and USA 1 goal with not even a single yellow card flashed. Germany won 3-0 on 27th August 2012; USA won by a lone goal on 8th September 2012 and on 6th August 2014 it was Germany 2 USA 0.
USA lost to Spain by a lone goal; defeated Morocco 2-0 and beat Paraguay 7-0 at the group games before edging out Mexico 3-2 in the Round of 16 games scoring 12 goals and conceding 3.
The USA are in their 10th appearances and has won the title thrice in 2002 Maiden Games in Canada where she beat Canada by a lone goal; Chile 2008 where she beat North Korea 2-1 and Japan 2012 where she beat Germany by a lone goal.
She lost the Bronze to Japan by a lone goal at Papua New Guinea 2014 also lost the Bronze at Russia 2006 to Brazil 6-5 on penalties after a goalless Extra time and won Bronze at Thailand 2004 beating Brazil 3-0.
Germany schemed out Venezuela 5-2; beat Falconets of Nigeria 3-1 and lost 0-1 to South Korea only to move to the Round of 16 games and drowned Argentina 5-1 scoring 13 goals and conceding 5.
Germany missed one out of eleven tournaments, won the title thrice at Thailand 2004 when she beat China 2-0; in 2010 when she beat Nigeria 2-0 in the final and repeated a defeat dose to Nigeria at the 2014 finals in Canada by a lone goal after extra Time, In 2012 at Japan, Germany lost in the final to USA by a lone goal but at the maiden edition Canada 2002 she beat Brazil to win the Bronze on penalties 4-3 after full time ended 1-1.
Brazil lost 0-1 to North Korea in the 1st quarterfinal; Netherlands shoved off hosts Columbia 3-0 via penalty shootouts after 2-2 at Extra time in the 2nd quarterfinals; Japan piped Spain 1-0 in the 3rd quarterfinals while USA wrecked the German Machine 3-1 on penalties after 2-2 Extra Time.

The first semifinal will be played at 2230 hours of Wednesday 18th September between North Korea and USA at Cali at 2230 hours while the 2nd semifinal will be played on Thursday 19th at 0200 hours between Japan and Netherlands also at Cali.
The 3rd Place match for the Bronze medal will be played on Saturday 21st September at 2200 hours while the grand finale is on Sunday 22nd September also at 2200 hours.
