In spite of a court order,Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, deposed four years ago has been reinstated as Emir of Kano.
He received his reappointment letter from the state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf at a ceremony in the ancisnt city.

A federal High Court presided by Justice Mohammed Liman had halted the reinstatement of Emir Sanusi following an application by Alhaji Aminu Babba Dan Agundi, the Sarkin Dawaki Babba of the Kano Emirate.

But the Kano State government says the court order came a little too late as Sanusi’s reinstatement had already taken place before the court ruled on it.

At a ceremony in the Government House in Kano, Governor Yusuf said the decision to reinstate Sanusi followed extensive deliberations that were fully backed by the Emirate Council’s kingmakers.
