Samson Oriyomi participated in a group exhibition titled Beyond the Visible Frame, held 16th-23rd November 2023 and hosted by AfriArt Gallery in Uganda.
The exhibition brought together a diverse group of contemporary artists from different disciplines and cultural backgrounds. Their works are presented in an innovative virtual reality format, allowing audiences from around the world to explore and engage with the artworks digitally.
This approach expands accessibility and offers a new way of experiencing art beyond the traditional gallery setting.
For Samson Oriyomi, participating in “Beyond the Visible Frame” is an opportunity to challenge the boundaries of photography and expand the language of visual storytelling. As a Fine Art Photographer, his work focuses on exploring what lies beneath the surface, including emotions, unseen tensions, and subtle narratives that are often overlooked. This exhibition has allowed him to push that vision further.
His contribution centers on capturing moments that exist beyond what is immediately visible. Rather than simply documenting reality, his work expresses deeper emotional and psychological experiences. Through careful composition, light manipulation, and conceptual framing, he creates images that encourage viewers to reflect and question their own ways of seeing.
Being part of a group exhibition adds more meaning to the experience. Each artist brings a unique interpretation of the theme, and together their works create a shared dialogue that is both diverse and connected. The exhibition highlights how different perspectives can coexist while exploring the idea of going beyond the visible in their own ways.
For Samson Oriyomi, Beyond the Visible Frame represents more than just an exhibition. It is a shared exploration of perception, depth, and artistic freedom. It reinforces his belief that photography is not limited to what can be seen, but can also reveal what is felt, imagined, and hidden.
Another participant described the experience as inspiring and thought provoking. According to him, Samson Oriyomi’s work stood out for its emotional depth and introspective quality. While many pieces explored the idea of going beyond the physical frame, his photographs reached into a more psychological space.
His images captured states of mind rather than just visuals. There was a sense of stillness and honesty that encouraged viewers to pause and reflect. Instead of providing clear answers, his work invited personal interpretation and deeper thinking.
Participants also noted that in a space where many artists aim to make bold statements, his work stood out for its quiet strength. It showed that powerful art does not always need to demand attention but can gently hold it.
Overall, Beyond the Visible Frame celebrates diverse artistic voices, and Samson Oriyomi’s contribution adds a layer of introspection that enriches the entire exhibition. It serves as a reminder that art can go beyond what we see and connect with what we feel and think, even after the experience ends.
