Vivian Ekpokpo has successfully concluded her acclaimed solo exhibition, “Silent Frames,” held from November 2–8, 2023, at the Pan African Art Gallery in Long Beach, California.
Over the course of the week, the exhibition welcomed art collectors, curators, photographers, cultural advocates, and members of the public who experienced a deeply reflective body of work that challenged conventional portraiture and celebrated the emotional depth of the human experience.
Through a series of meticulously crafted black-and-white photographs, Silent Frames explored themes of identity, vulnerability, resilience, and cultural memory. Ekpokpo’s ability to communicate powerful narratives through still imagery resonated with visitors, inspiring thoughtful conversations about representation, heritage, and the evolving role of contemporary African photography on the global stage.
