The 21st edition of the National Young Women’s Summit, NYWS, organized by the hosts of the television talk show “The Girls Show” with Olamipeju on GOtv, will hold on October 11th, coinciding with the International Day of the Girl Child.
Since its inception in August 2012 at the University of Lagos, the Young Women’s Summit has touched the lives of over 50,000 young women. Its primary objective is to inspire and provide timely information to assist young women in navigating life’s challenges.
“Many of us can relate to the costly mistakes we made while growing up simply because we lacked the guidance of experienced women. This is why we are dedicated to hosting this event for young women, Olamipeju Adekunle said in a statement announcing this year’s edition.
Renowned figures like Mrs Titilope Adeboye, Veekee James, Juliet Ubanatu, and others along with medical professionals will address important topics.
“Our program includes showcasing talent, interactive games, and captivating storytelling sessions. In addition, we will provide essential raw food materials and sanitary products to support students facing ongoing hardships.
‘Notably, this event is entirely free, but registration is required at the venue. By attending this conference, young women will gain firsthand knowledge of sex education, learn how to protect themselves from sexual harassment, and receive answers to their pressing questions.”
Olamipeju urged Nigerians to support the programme by donating towards the successful hosting of over 2,000 students who will be greatly impacted during the various sessions.
