As Nigeria joins the world to celebrate Peace Day, there is need for Nigerians to embrace peace, justice and righteousness for rapid development and progress in the country.
Founder, Christ In All Nations International Ministries, Dr Timi Ajayi, gave the admonition in an interview to commemorate this year’s International Peace Day in Lagos.
He stated that the objective of the Peace Day was to recognize individual and collective responsibility to foster peace in realization and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals to create a culture of peace for all.
The clergy man appealed to Nigerians to show empathy and love to one another especially during the economic and climate change challenges ongoing in the country to ensure peaceful coexistence.
Dr Ajayi also urged all African countries to shun coup d’etat which could lead to war if not properly managed, with its attendant effects of poverty and hunger.
He called on government at all levels to prioritize the welfare of the masses and implement only people oriented policies to alleviate the citizens sufferings for peace to reign.
The theme of this year’s International Peace Day is “Actions for Peace: Our Ambition for the #GlobalGoals.
