A former Director of Media and later Director of Procurement at the Defence Headquarters, Major General Benard Onyeuko, has died.
Onyeuko reportedly died in Abuja after a brief illness.
PRNigeria quoted “a credible source” as disclosing that he died this Saturday morning, August 26, 2023 after complaining of cold and was rushed to a private hospital where he died.
Another close friend to the deceased told PRNigeria that the retired general was hale and hearty on Friday until he fell ill on Saturday morning and passed away.
General Onyeuko’s last appointment was as Director of Procurement at Defence Headquarters Department of Logistics.
He retired from the Nigerian Army after the recent appointment of new service chiefs.
