‘The reward for hard work is more work’ so goes a popular saying.

The above maxim is the situation Hon. Aniagwu… Charles alias Nwachinemeru, has found himself. Aniagwu surfaced on Delta political limelight immediately after the election of Sen (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa as the governor of oil rich Delta State in 2015. Then, as the Chief Press Secretary, he was one of the first political appointees of the governor to be annonced.

Aniagwu as the CPS, served the governor meritoriously for four years 2015-2019 and was one of the aides of Okowa that was retained. In his case, he was not only retained but was ‘upgraded’ to the next level. Okowa appointed Aniagwu as the commissioner for information when he moved the erstwhile commissioner, Akatapo Patrick Ukah, another commissioner retained, to the education ministry. At the information ministry, Aniagwu surprised all the doubting Thomas who doubted his capacity to effectively function in the office; he brought his reportorial accumen gnarded from his years as one of those that made the late Chief Alego Raymond Dokpesi’s African Independent Television, AIT, a must watch in Africa and beyond.

The incredible job he did as the states commissioner again, earned him the top job of one of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s spokesmen at last presidential election. A job he did to the best of his ability.

However, it was not suprising to those who were keeping tab on his political journey when the new governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oboveweri, singled him out as one of those to form his cabinet.

Aniagwu not only made the cabinet, but was made the commissioner of the all important rural roads. Thecroads that leads to rural towns that is the food baskets of the state. The rural roads of villages/towns that bears the crude oil deposits that the whole nation runs on.
