The Economic Commission of West Africa, ECOWAS has condemn alleged plan by the military junta in Niger to charge the ousted President with treason.
In a press statement issued Monday evening,the body said the move represents another act of provocation and contradicts the willingness of the military to restore constitutional order through peaceful means.
It stated that outsted President Bazoom remains the democratically elected president of the Republic of Niger recognized by ECOWAS and the international community.
