…Nigeria faces Ireland in last Group B match Tomorrow, Monday at 1100 Hours.
Co-hosts New Zealand have been sent out of the Women’s World Cup on Sunday along with debutant Philippines as the Group A matches were closed.

Switzerland and New Zealand
Unlucky New Zealand was ousted via goals difference as she chalked 4 points with second placed Norway but Norway scored 6 goals and conceded 1 while New Zealand scored just a goal and conceded a goal after the goalless draw with Switzerland on Sunday.
In the other group match, Norway walloped Philippines 6-0 to top group A chalking 5 points, scoring 2 goals and conceded no goal.
Debutante Philippines obtained three points from their first ever win at the world cup which was the shocking win over hosts New Zealand scoring just a goal and conceding a basketful 8 goals.
At the first round matches, New Zealand had piped Norway 1-0 and Switzerland bombed Philippines 2-0; at the second round matches Philippines stunned New Zealand 1-0 and Switzerland played barren raw with Norway; on the third round matches played on Sunday, Switzerland again played goalless with New Zealand while Norway banged Philippines 6-0.
In the interesting match between Norway and Philippines, Roma’s Sophie Roman Haug scored a hat trick (a language for three goals scored by a single person in a match) as she got a curled pass from Bjelde to score the first goal at the 6th minute. She got a Risa assist to score the second goal 17th minute while she took advantage of tired Engen to nod home at 90+5th minute which was Norway’s 6th goal.
Caroline Graham Hansu pounced on a faulty clearance to lash home Norway’s 3rd goal at the 31st minute. Norway had piled pressure on Philippines an Defender Alicia Barker knee deflected the ball into goal in the 48th minute for goal number 4 while Sawicki got under pressure too and brought down Guro Reiten in the box, She took the penalty and scored the 5th goal at 53rd minute.
Philippine’s Sofia Nicole Dador Harrison after 10 minutes on the pitch was given a straight red card for malicious tackle on Bjelde in the 67th minute.
Switzerland is standing bye for her opponent in the round of 16 on Saturday 5th August while runners-up Norway will play her Round of 16 match on 5th August too.
Tomorrow at 0800 hours, Japan and Spain will meet at the Wellington Regional Stadium while at the same time Costa Rica will trade tackles with Zambia at the FMG Stadium Waikato to determine the two teams that will go home in group C.
To determine the two teams that will move to the Round of 16 in Group B, Nigeria will meet Republic of Ireland at 1100 hours at the Suncorp Stadium while at the same time, hosts Australia will contest for survival against Canada at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium.
