
The Senate on Thursday confirmed nomination of Service Chiefs by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu after a closed door session, which lasted for about two hours.
It was learnt that the Service Chiefs were grilled by the Senators over the challenges of insecurity confronting the country.
The confirmation of the Service Chiefs came less than 48 hours after President Tinubu sought it.
Tinubu it will be recalled had written to the Senate requesting the confirmation of the newly-appointed Service Chiefs.
The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, who read the letter at the resumption of the plenary on Tuesday, said the Service Chiefs would be screened by the entire Senate in its chamber at a yet-to-be-announced date.
However at the screening exercise on Thursday, the Service Chiefs were confirmed.
Those confirmed on were Major General C. G. Musa, Chief of Defence Staff; Major General T. A. Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral E. A, Ogalla, Chief of Naval Staff; and Air Vice Marshall H.B. Abubakar, Chief of the Air Staff.
