A group has finally come to the aid of the late Jerry Okorodudu family in respect of the release of his corpse for burial.
The group by name Family United By Sports, has responded to call for help by the family of the late Olympic boxer, Jerry Okorodudu by paying the balance of the N600,000 hospital bill after his death on Wednesday.
It will be recalled earlier that Okorodudu died shortly before funds could be raised for his for an amputation of his leg but the private hospital declined to release his remains over the balance of N600,000.
The news had gone viral on Thursday with many lamenting over the situation.
The Family United by Sports, NPO Reports learnt had been frantically battling to raise the funds for the surgery but could not until the boxer passed away.
Okorodudu, what a life of struggle
The group, according to the information available to the NPO Reports, comprises notable sports personalities.
The news of the death of Okorodudu had reportedly jolted the group after which it was agreed that the money already raised should be released to the family.
