Charles Okogene
Prior to joining the services of Delta State government, Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu, had distinguished himself as an astute banker in Nigeria that saw him criss-cross many banking halls including the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Emu
It was from there that the immediate past governor of The state, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, spotted his talent and invited him out to come home and serve his state.
Then, Kingsley Eze Emu, started off as Okowa’s campaign Director General when the ex-governor was seeking to represent the people of Anioma Senatorial District in the Red Chambers.
He made it possible for this writer to have a one on one chat with the former governor at his private office in Asaba, the the second time. The first time was when the former governor who was incidentally the SSG during Dr. Emmanuel Uduagan as governor, an interview that was facilitated by Mr. Gideon Nwaomu of the defunct Giddys Place.
As Okowa’s campaign DG, he toured all the nooks and crannies of the nine local government areas that make up Delta North Senatorial District. Even places Okowa could not visit during the campaign, Emu, as the DG was there and delivered Delta North for Okowa to become their senator. Little wonder why he knows the entire Delta North Senatorial District that is also known as Anioma like an adult Nigerian Knows naira note.
In 2015, he teamed up with the likes of Mr. Hilary Ibegbulem, Jonathan Onwuka, Hon. Festus Agas and many others in making sure that Okowa becomes the first Anioma man to become the governor of the state; and for all that, he was rewarded as commissioner for Economic Planning.
As the economic planning commissioner, he proved his worth as a banker of repute assisting the job creating office in creating so many jobs it created the state for the youths of the state in all strate.
When Deltans returned Okowa as governor again in 2019, Emu was one of the few appointees that was retained. This time as Senior Special Adviser on ….
A very loyal, passionate, committed technocrat, Emu is unassuming. A quiet achiever, who shuns media limelight but prefers his achievement to speak for him.
When the new governor in his first set of appointment, named the 6ft+ Emu as the state’s engine room of governance, (SSG), not many including this writer, who has been following his political odyssey, were surprised at the choice; that the governor has made the right decision, that a round peg has been inserted into a round.
With his wealth of experience that took root from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), other commercial banks, there is no doubt that the governor has made an invaluable decision in bringing him into his government.
