Twenty four hours after his suspension from office,by President Bola Tinubu,the whereabout of ex Central Bank of Nigeria ,CBN governor,Godwin Emefiele is unknown. Though his purported arrest was in the media late Friday evening,the Department of state Services,DSS,have denied holding him .
After his removal,Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi, the Deputy Governor, Operations Directorate, is to act as Acting CBN Governor, pending the conclusion of investigations into Emefiele’s conduct while in office.
DSS arrests suspended CBN Gov., Emefiele
Emefiele was suspended “sequel to the ongoing investigation of his office and the planned reforms in the financial sector of the economy” according to a statement by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume.
In a tweet on Saturday, the DSS said the ousted CBN Governor is not in its customary.
“Currently, Emefiele is not with the DSS”.
