Gen Barry Ndiomu (retd) has taken the fight to corrupt workers of the Presidential Amnesty Office (PAO) who are feeding some of the contractors with fake reports of corruption in the intervention agency, which the contractors in turn leak to the media.
The lastest is the recent report by a popular website, which claimed that the past regime of Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), was involved in a N5.6 billion fraud. And that as a result the present Interim Administrator (IA), Ndiomu, scampered a abroad on May 26 and did not attend the inauguration of the new president, Bola Ahmed TInubu, just to avoid arrest.
The news report has been since refuted by the media office of PAP in two separate statement title….

However, sources close to newsdawn said that the IA who has vowed to wash the agency’s toga clean of corruption, is not done with the rebuttal.
He is said to have started a kind of in house cleaning by deploying some workers that man sensitive positions and who are suspected to be feeding the unscrupulous contractors with the falsehood.
“This place is wired in such a way that most of the workers here, especially the junior and middle cadre ones, came here through the contractors and some big ex-militants and they are still working for them,” the source continued. “You will not believe it that there are some things you plan to do and before you get the nod of the right quatres, you will receive a call from these contractors/ex-militants telling you that ‘they have heard what you are planning’.” Is so bad!”
But in an attempt to put a stop to such porous system, Ndiomu’s big axe has fallen on the accounts department where most of the ‘fake documents’ originate from.
“As we speak, most of them have been re-deployed to other less sensitive departments, especially the non-accounting ones,” the source said.
According to him the next place the IA’s axe will land on and very soon, is the audit department. “That place is rotten too,” he said.
Ndiomu the source said, believes that he must leave a clean legacy when his work is done in PAP and that is why he has suspended the scholarship programme of the office that had become a conduit pipe, the monthly stipend of ex-militants using multiple BVN to milk PAP.
