Protocols
Preamble : This is a unique book aimed at explaining and highlighting the role of Women and their task in identifying their duties in God’s purpose for the Marriage institution.
It is also aimed at enabling women focus on playing their role in soldifying their Matrimony for a blissful life and purposeful Home.
I must say that having been part of those saddled with the editing of the book,it is quite deep and will contribute in no small way to build and develop the exalted institution of marriage.
The author, Evangelist Tosin Martins started by extending her appreciation to all those who in no small way made the publication of the book a reality.
The Dedication is rightly for our Lord Jesus Christ who with Holy Spirit power saw that it came to light.
The book is divided into six chapters.
I must admit it is written in simple and flowing spiritual prose easily discernible to an average reader.
The chapters opened with Women as agent of change; Life as a Woman; Cost of Saying No to God;
Amidst the storm of life as a Wife; What you are to your Husband ;Life as a mother and the conclusion.
On Women as a creator,the author describes Women as a valuable complement and help mate.
She identifies later day principles of Feminism which tends to equate women with men in all ramifications as one of the causes of friction in marriage in modern times.
This, she explains tends to have eroded the Divine Agenda of God for women.
To fulfil the divine place of women, she urge them to have Faith in God so as not to allow stress of coping with demands of womanhood affect and derail them from their Divine role.
According to her,seeking the help of the Holy spirit in rising up to the challenge of time management will enable women to achieve the Great Commission and serves as light of the world.
Women as agent of Change – Isaiah 52:1-2
The author admonish women to accept that as an agent of change and blessing to their generation,call to Awake and Take Charge is to avoid act of sleeping or slumber.
Hence,the destiny charge could only be effected through determination on the part of mother’s, wives and women to scale the hurdles adding,”whatever we are passing through should not hinder us using -Romans 8:32,Isaiah 52:1-2 as illustrations.
To be Awake according to her, “is to escape captivity and be alive to the assignment such that women can ,”be an extension of the love of God to our husbands,wives, spouses,children, friends and neighbours ‘.
In chapter 2, Evangelist Martins describes Women of purpose as an individual with a life and purpose being, as a Wife fearfully and wonderfully made.Rev 4:12
To be so, means God has prepared you for your role. You are to view your life the way God sees you such that you will run the race set before you. (Even those who have no children have proved to be agents to help shape lives of other children).
Women according to her, are of value and uniqueness,hence their existence as Women is not a mistake.
To be a woman of mission and vision was an assignment and mission of mothers which was reflected in Mordecai’s admonition to Esther not to be silent- Esther 4:14.
She concluded this chapter by identifying Obedience to the word of God “as crucial factor to fulfil the duty of woman in you while the contrary easily rob you of the Peace in your Work, family business and home”.
In other words, our Evangelist is asking Womenfolk to get prepared to multi-task as change agents.
Chapter Three: Cost of Saying No to God-
The author use the life of Prophet Jonah sent to preach the gospel to the people of Nineveh but in order to avoid doing this,he ran from Gods presence and at the end of the day, ended up in the belly of the Fish who spew him out at Nineveh-the mission post he had earlier rejected.
When God gives you an assignment to execute, count it as a privilege. If you are not clear about the assignment, ask God through the Holy Spirit- pray for clarity-Judge 2: 11-15.
It is instructive that those who shun their heaven given assignment pay dearly for flouting divine order and or instructions.
Disobedience amounts to act of disrespect to your creator. If we go the opposite direction or fail to do things according to Gods way,we will miss His benefits .
Chapter Four: God Amidst the Storm –
Evangelist Martins saw clearly Gods mind when she likened life to an experience full of challenges which should not stop or hinder us from reaching the topmost level designed for our lives.
Many women she wrote, watch their lives drift away by circumstances and situations they are confronted with and forget about the purpose of their existence.
Regrettably, she observed, many never knew the reasons for their existence.
For instance,Ruth refused to dwell on the challenges she had. She moved on with her life and God met her on the way.
Had she stayed back in Moab,she wouldn’t have had the opportunity of meeting Boaz (a new husband) and having a son and at the end earned a privilege position in the lineage of David and Christ.
Ruth thus became the great-grand mother of David.
I must admit this book is a revelation and lantern on what we could do, if we believe, walk on the sea with your eyes focused upon Jesus not minding the storm- (Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith-Hebrew 12:1-2 )
Lack of focusing made the disciples experience sinking in the boat.
Don’t allow enemy to steal,kill and to destroy your life. Arise and take charge. Your prosperity will come by solving a problem for humanity.
Chapter Five: Your life as a Wife -Gen 2:18
The author made us to understand that marriage institution is for the benefit of mankind and that the purpose of marriage is for the woman to be a Helper and suitable companion (if you are planning for marriage ask God to lead you).
You are to be a Helper in fulfilling his assignment in the journey of life.
Help him to be a better person. Many helpers are sleeping, slumbering and complaining.
A wife is a source of inspiration to the husband.The saying behind a successful man is a woman who is not tired, is apt all the time.
This is for the woman that knows what she has been called to do. To re-channel their energies into making a successful marriage by being supportive of their husbands-be a cheering leader when a great opportunity presents itself.(Be interested in your husband’s work,job or career).
Be a role model,watch his back and honour him to the amazement of the elders at the gate.-Prov 31.
The elders recognize the men because of the work of the wife in his life.Her children call her blessed.Your role in his life will determine whether the dowry will be increased or reduced.David was ready to pay double what Saul requested as dowry.
Chapter Six: What are you to your Husband? -Helper : Ezekiel 2:18, Ecclesiastes 4:10 .
If one fall, one will lift up the other. You are the closest to Him, the bone of His bone. You reap what you sow What you sow in one season,you reap in the other. Don’t take the glory.
One of the reasons most men do not share their challenges and trouble they are confronted with is because she enjoys taking the glory. Abigael was not only beautiful but also an asset.
You are a lover. You are there to meet emotional needs of your spouse.
Sexual fulfillment should be met by you. Don’t use his need for sexual satisfaction as punishment. If you do and he is not disciplined, he may find somebody else to meet the need.
Bring back the fire by doing this things: Act like you are in a new relationship; pay attention to your spouse; share new experience.
Do something out of the extraordinary;Be affectionate both physical and verbally; always be kind.
You are a supporter,prayer partner and intercessor and His closest friend.
Your life as a mother- Biological,Natural, Adopted children,spiritual children.
In conclusion, know you are the light of the world,a city that can’t be hidden.
Comment : On the whole, the book is a Bible for new intending couples and those already married both for instruction, guidance and to help build Christain Homes.
The book having been written with the guidance of the Holy spirit will be a divine source of guidance and nurture for couples who wish to excel in this sacred institution established by God to increase mankind and build good Homes.
