Protesting workers blocked the airport road
Aviation workers make good their threats to down tools as traffic around Ikeja area of Mobolaji Bank Anthony and it’s environs in Lagos is currently under lockdown following protests by members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
The NLC action is apparently in solidarity with aviation unions over different failed promises of the Federal Government.
As a result a lot of vehicles are traped in traffic.
As at the time of filing in this report, many road users were seen sitting by the road side as the protesting workers barricaded all airport access roads.
It will be recalled that aviation workers had threatened to commence a two-day warning strike from today over plan by the Federal Government to demolish Lagos headquarters of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and all other aviation agencies.
