Top Rising and promising Nigerian visual artist Chidozie Oliver Maduka is set to present a powerful new body of work in his private solo exhibition titled Atumatu Madu Lara Niyi (Drenched Dreams), taking place from May 10 to 24, 2023, at The Art Place Studio, Ikeja, Lagos.

This highly anticipated exhibition invites viewers into a deeply reflective world, exploring themes of identity, ancestral memory, hope, and cultural resilience. Rooted in Igbo philosophy, the exhibition title translates to “The Thoughts That Live in People,” while the subtitle, Drenched Dreams, evokes imagery of submerged aspirations, inherited struggles, and the quiet resistance woven through generations.
Set within the serene environment of The Art Place Studio, this invitation-only exhibition offers an intimate encounter with Chidozie’s latest works each piece a layered expression of personal history and collective consciousness. Blending symbolic form, mixed media, and emotionally charged textures, Maduka continues to push the boundaries of African contemporary art.
This exhibition marks an important chapter in the artist’s growing career and affirms his position as one of the most promising voices in Nigeria’s evolving creative scene.
