Former Post Master General,Barrister Bisi Adegbuyi has called on Yoruba elders to educate their cosmopolitan children ahead of the forthcoming governorship elections in Lagos state.
Apparently referring to the outcome of last week’s presidential election where youths are believed to have vote for the Labour Party,LP to secure majority votes.
According to him,this is necessary to save the race and the notion among non Yoruba residents that Lagos in No man’s Land.

Said he,”Nkechi of Lagos is awfully ignorant, she needs help. There are indigenous Red Indians even in US. Yoruba parents need to educate their ‘cosmopolitan’ children, as I do mine, on the implications of the dangerous narrative of Lagos is no man’s land.
As for the advocates of Lagos being a stand alone city..” gedegbe leko wa” he urged them to have a rethink to ensure unity among Yoruba in the face of imminent attacks by outsiders.
He urged the stand alone advocates to bear in mind the need to firewall Lagos from the oncoming and imminent attacks.
According to Adegbuyi one of the promoters of the Oro National Conference,PRoNACO led by the late Chief Anthony Enahoro,there is need for Yoruba to renegotiate their coexistence with residents from other tribes living in Lagos.
Said he,” after securing Lagos, the Lagos conurbation settlements and the entire Yoruba race will negotiate with our brothers and sisters, from a position of strength, that Lagos should be our bellwether state for mutually beneficial relationship, sustainable economic and political development, that will engender growth and equal opportunities for all.

The state governorship election is holding next Saturday March 11 and is expected to be hotly contested between the three dominant parties viz the ruling All Progressives Congress,APC of incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwoolu,People’s Democratic Party candidate,Jide Adediran and Gboyega Vivour Rhodes of Labour Party,LP who is using his Igbo maternal lineage to whip up sentiments among Igbo residents of the state.
