The entire leadership of the New Nigeria Peoples’ Party (NNPP) in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District on Thursday, publicly collapsed its structure in support of Senator Godswill Akpabio victory on Saturday.
Leading all the senatorial structure of the party in the 10 Local government areas in the district, the chairman of chairmen, Etinyene Josiah Ekpe and the Senatorial Woman Leader, Edidiong Abasi Okure, said they decided to declare the support of all the members and leaders of the party in the district for Senator Akpabio because of his unrivalled performance as a governor, Senator and Minister of the federal republic of Nigeria.”

According to them, “we are here to declare our readiness to work for the victory of our former governor throughout the length and breadth of Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District.”
In the same vein, the NNPP candidate for Ukanafun/ Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, Etengeabasi Sampson, publicly declared his support for the candidacy of the former Senate Minority Leader, noting that, “he is the best the district can present for national assignment at the moment.”
In his brief response, Senator Akpabio thanked the former party leaders of NNPP in the Senatorial District for throwing their weight behind his ambition, assuring them that he will not disappoint them and they would be carried along as he assumes the role of their Senator on Saturday.
