With less than 25 days to the general election, the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC, has said that the scarcity of the Premium Motor Spirit,PMS, popularly called petrol, may affect the movement of election materials and election personnel.

The INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, made this known in a meeting with National Union of Road Transport Workers in Abuja on Tuesday.

Unmasking PDP’s orchestrated plot to unleash fake news and disinformation days to election

Yakubu said the commission would be meeting with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, to resolve any issues that might affect logistics delivery and personnel movement on election day.

The nation has been battling crippling fuel scarcity in the last three months with no solution in sight.

President Muhammadu Buhari last week sets up a 14-member committee to find a lasting solution to the fuel shortage with himself as head of the committee.

The price of fuel has risen to N510 in some parts of the country while queues has compounded transportation movement in city like Lagos and most states in the south east.
