Leader of Ilana Odua,Yoruba nations determination coalition group, Professor Banjo Akintoye, has debunked news making the rounds that he has resigned his leadership and appointed Professor Wale Adeniran in his place.

In an interview with Newdawngr.com today from his base in Cotonou,Professor Akintoye said there is no truth whatsoever in the report.

Said he,”I can tell you categorically that the news is not true. Just ignore them though a lot is happening “.

He however said that he is taking his time to rest now based on the doctors advice adding,”I am not a young man at 86 and I have to slow down and listen to my doctor’s advice”.

It will be recalled that an on line news platform- not Newdawnngr.com,published a report earlier today of resignation of the Professor of History and in his place his former Deputy,Professor Adeniran has been nominated to replace him pending the ratification of the Yoruba World Congress scheduled to take place in the new year.

Professor Akintoye has been on exile for close to two years now following threat to his life in the wake of attacks on Yoruba activist,Chief Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho who has been on exile in neighbouring Republic of Benin.
