…..two colleagues withdraw suit from court

There are indications that the embattled former Speaker of the Ekiti state House of Assembly, Olugboyega Aribisogan is now left alone among his two other colleagues in battle against house over his impeachment.
It will be recalled that the assembly suspended for and later recalled six of the assembly members who joined to install Honorable Aribisogan early last month.
However six days after his election on November 15,he was impeached by the house and replaced with Honourable Olubunmi Adelugba, who becomes the first female speaker of the assembly.
Aribisogan was subsequently suspended by the house leadership along six others in his camp.
In reaction to his removal six Senior lawyers led by Chief Afe Babalola including Femi Falana,SAN kicked against his removal describing it as unconstitutional.
As a result, Aribisogan along with Honurables Tajudeen Akingbolu and Adegoke Olajide instituted an action in the court against the assembly to challenge their suspension and impeachment.
However, the state council of traditional rulers intervened on the issue with a view to reaching an amicable settlement.
Newdawnngr.com sources revealed that one of the conditions given by the assembly for any truce to take place is for the lawmakers to withdraw their suit and write a letter of apology to the house leadership.
While Akingbolu and Olajide has complied and subsequently recalled by the house, Aribisogun has opted to fight the case out.
As a result, the house it was gathered is considering recalling the duo while Aribisogan will be left in the cold.
For now, the 6th assembly still has six months before the expiration of it’s tenure which will be preceded by the election March next year.
