“She stands by you through thick and thin, cries when you get hurt, laughs when you crack a joke. She feels proud when you win and encourages you to do better when you fall” ….These were the words the children of Chief Mrs. Rose Onyebuchi Nduka popularly known as Ogbuefi (a renowned entrepreneur par excellence) to her as she celebrates her 80th birthday in style.

She proves that she is ageing with grace as she made a grand entrance during her birthday celebration, thanking God for a fulfilled life. Her dancing steps speaks volumes even as her gown radiates elegance.

In the words of Rev. Onwochei Ugom, General Overseer of Life Spring Bible Church who ministered at the Appreciation and Thanksgiving Service held recently for Chief (Mrs) Rose O. Nduka at Newbreed Leadership Centre, Surulere, with Bible text from Prov16:24, said being strong at 80 is the work of grace which mama is enjoying.

While lamenting that major health issues are caused by lack of care and ignorance, Rev.Ugom urged everyone to make the right choices and maintain a healthy lifestyle so as not to die early.

His words “Mama has been able to enjoy living healthy through her service to God and was also able to maintain her body. The refreshing you need is in the word of God. Healing is good but divine health is better” said Rev. Ugom.

Also speaking on behalf of Mama Nduka’s in-laws, James-Kenneth O. Engurube, Esq. in his tribute said, ‘this is from someone who has also shared in the warmth and genuine love from mummy…….

I recall the sweet memories when in 1998 my wife, Henrietta and I were planning our traditional marriage in Oguta. We were blessed with your resourcefulness and help as a mother. Few of my guests who slept at her house still recall with fondness the warm reception and motherly treatment they received from Ogbuefi even though it was a short stay.

I can therefore say without contradiction that Ogbuefi is an astute and vibrant mother, philanthropic, and as already attested by her children, she is an educationist.

She deals with people around her with fairness, exhibiting high level of charity, compassion and empathy in rendering help” he said.

Engurube speaks further  “When life offered bitter lemons at some point in your life you remained firm and resolute, humble and as a compassionate servant of God you continued with the journey of life doing good. Indeed you lived out the very meaning of your name ONYEBUCHI IBEYA …. NO BODY IS YOUR GOD! You built a Team of your children, with you as the team leader, you inspired them, gave them self confidence and equipped them for life. Circumstances didn’t deter you from been who God has created. You followed the path which God laid for you and your task remained to cater for the children and loved ones around you, these you have done creditably well ma.

“Ogbuefi, your life is filled with pleasantness, so we wish you more sunshine, good health, happy and peaceful memories and together with the families here gathered we celebrate you today at this Thanksgiving service” said Kenneth Engurube Esq..

On how she’s able to manage her home with her business, Mama Nduka said it has been God. “I had a younger Sister of mine staying with me at that time, she assisted in taking care of the Children while I go to the market for my business. The fact that I was in come for three days and I’m still alive today, it can only be God, my God has been faithful’, said Chief Mrs Nduka.

Chief Mrs Ogbuefi Rose Onyebuchi Nduka is married to late Ogbuagu Francis Nduka and blessed with 6 Children : 5 Male and 1 Female (all graduates), 25 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
