The credibility of Journalists is as important as the credibility of political leaders. In advanced democracy, its not only politicians that are called into question, bankers, journalists, policemen, footballers, comic actors are questioned so also are civil servants. Bill Cosby was jailed. Micheal Jackson faced the law and Tyson was jailed. They were not politically exposed persons.
The ruin of a nation is not just the art or act of politicians, the citizens are culpable. Accountability should be all inclusive. That is the way we can build a greater and prosperous country.
We can’t complain about politicians who steal public funds but assume that crooks and criminals parading themselves as public gadflies should not matter to us. Abati took 50m from public funds under Jonathan. Nduka took some 600m. What a country!!!
Journalists have turned media into avenue for insulting politicians – Kalu .
Abati was running mate to Buruji in PDP. Buruji has a drug case to answer in the US.
A court in UK indicted Nduka Obaigbena. He was even banned from holding positions in any UK registered company. He us owing his workers in Thisday to the tune of 6months or more. He is fraudulent. It is not impossible that Nduka has taken millions from PDP to run down other political parties. That is not journalist but savage commerce.
In SA, the govt closed down his newspapers. In other countries, there would have been outcry and nobody would even listen to or buy his medium any longer.
If we want to cleanse Nigeria, it has to be total.
You may be surprised to know that civil servants are some of the richest people in this country why bankers keep fat on unpaid dividends and funds deducted illegally from account owners
If we want a greater and prosperous country, honesty and dignity should not be the prerequisite of political office holders alone.
