FRSC issues new directive on second Niger Bridge opening 15th December

The Federal Road Safety Commission,FRSC, has issued new directives on the usage of the 2nd Niger Bridge schedule for opening Thursday December 15th.
In a statement Saturday,the sector Commander,Adeoye Irelewuyi said that the bridge to be opened by Works Minister,Babatunde Raji Fashola, will only be opened to motorist coming from West to the East through Asaba between December 15 to January 1st,while from January 2nd to 15th it will be opened to Motorist from East to the West.

He said that for now heavy duty Trucks and Trailers will not be allowed to use the bridge during this period.

The sector Commander enjoined members of the public to cooperate with traffic managers to ensure free flow of traffic during this period.

Irelewuyi said that the FRSC Anambra sector is collaborating with all relevant agencies to ensure that the gridlock normally experienced during this time of the year is completely eradicated.

He appealed to motorists and other road users to avoid excessive speeding under the influence of alcohol during the Yuletide period.
