The Red Crosses of Switzerland humble Eagles of Serbia 3-2 to move to Round of 16

The Red Crosses of Switzerland on Friday made it to the round of 16 with a 3-2 win over the Eagles of Serbia in a Group G match.

Elegant Xherden Shaqiri scored first at the 20th minute for Switzerland before the rigmarole in scoring was ignited. Mitrovic scored the first equalizer at 26th minute to make it 1-1 but Dusen Vishovic made it 2-1 at the 35th minute before Breel Embolo increased his haul at the Mundial to two goals with this equalizer 2-2 and there was a recess. Three minutes into the second half Remo Freular scored the winner.

Once the two teams met before on 22nd June 2018 and Switzerland won 2-1.

Brazil had conquered Serbia 2-0 in the first round, when Switzerland shook the Lions of Cameroon 1-0; in the second round, Brazil piped Switzerland by a lone goal while Cameroon played 3-3 with Serbia.

Brazil topped the Group G with 6 points +2 goals difference; Switzerland emerged Runners Up also with 6 points and +1 goals difference; Cameroon was 3rd with 4 points and zero goals difference while Serbia is 4th with only one point and -3 goals difference.
