Struggle for power between Transport Unions escalate tension in Osun

The struggle for the control of motor parks in Garrages is causing tension across the state.
The struggle this time arround is between faction of the Unions loyal to the new governor who are his symphatisers and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP.
They have on Monday a day after Governor Adeleke,was sworn in made moves to take over the affairs of the various motor parks.

NPO Reports gathered that in Osogbo, the state capital, moves by pro-PDP unionists were resisted by those loyal to the outgone Governor, Gboyega Oyetola at the New Garrage area leading to the death of an unidentified man.

The All Progressive Congress,APC, in a statement released by its acting Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, called on the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkhali Baba, to step in to avert further bloodshed.

Said he,”Barely 24 hours after the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, took over power in Osun State, anarchy appears to have taken the centre stage.

“This is why the Osun State chapter of All Progressive Congress (APC) has called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Akali Baba Usman to urgently intervene in the ugly security situation in the State.

“The party alleged that over 500 of its members have been attacked in the last 24 hours and a number of properties had been destroyed including APC campaign vehicles, billboards particularly in Osogbo, the state capital,” Lawal stated
