The House of Assembly in Osun is set to battle newly sworn in Governor, Ademola Adeleke over his decision to stop the use of the state anthem and the crest. I’ll govern Osun again – Oyetola
Adeleke it will be recalled had on Sunday during his inauguration said the state would revert to the “Osun State” instead of “State of Osun” which came into force during the administration of former Governor, Rauf Aregbesola.
He also reverted the state’s sobriquet from “State of the Virtuous” to “State of the Living Spring.”
The Aregbesola’s administration had created a new anthem which resonated through the state and beyond and got commendations as part of the efforts to rebrand the state as Omoluabi state.
However, 24 hours after Adeleke made his pronouncement on Sunday, the House, which is headed by Hon. Timothy Owoeye, countered the Governor by reminding him that the Anthem and the crest were creations of a law which could not be dismissed with a wave of hands.
It was gathered that the House was in the process of issuing a Communique as at the time of filing this report.
