Honourable Gboyega Aribisogan became a member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly in the second term era of former Governor Ayodele Fayose. He found his into the hallowed chamber not on merit, anyway who merits? But as compensation for all the unprintable things they did the then lacquicious governor. But like they say ‘no …. lasts forever. It was not long that he fell out with Fayose who was then behaving as today’s Nyesom Wike, the present governor of Rivers State; he went underground according to him to escape assassination by Fayose’s hitmen who were his trail so he does vomit what did and knows about the governor.
On emerging from his hideout after the era of Fayose, he left People’s Democratic Party, PDP and anchored his ‘boat’ with The All Progressives Congress (APC) that was desperate for power not minding how it got it or the anticidents of people with which it gets the power. He was offered to ticket to return to the house where he was suspended during the governorships of Fayose.
There he was until the death former speaker Afuye last month and Aribisogan reared his ughly head again, contested the speakership post with … whom he defeated by 15 asHe was sworn in immediately against the 10 pulled by his opponent. He was sworn in immediately . But instead of peace, his election brought about protest, which first led to the closure of the House that now metamorphosised into his impeachment and indefinite suspension at the twilight of lifetime of the present assembly.
Enough of his political life, Aribisogan started hi working career as a tea boy (messenger) at the defunct Lagos Weekend newspapers a publication of the equally defunct Daily Times of Nigeria under the editoship of .. Fyncountry and Sam Ogwa respectively.
While there, he got admission into Times Journalism Institute, a training arm of Daily Times of Nigeria in Eric Moore Surulere area of Lago State. Obtained a diploma in journalism and as expected, was elevated to the post of reporter from tea boy.
While as a reporter, he met the late Edi Ayo-Ojo and they did all the terrible things they did in the media world during the dark days of Gen.Sani Abacha. Bayo Onanuga now with APC PCC cannot forget Edi Ayo-Ojo and Aribisogan in his lifetime.
Aribisogan profited so much from what his relationship with Ayo-Ojo impacted on Tempo and TheNews and other publications hostile to Abacha’s government. He bought his first car, a Honda brand as reporter in the 1990s when some editors cannot afford one.
