Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate, Dr. Alex Otti, on Saturday received the full compliment akin to a military reception when he visited the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Umuahia District Headquarters, as a Special Guest.
Otti says airport not priority
It was the final day of the church’s ‘2022 District Youth Week’, which saw the young members of the SDA show off their skills and talents in music and other forms of artistic and literary presentations.
The governorship candidate who was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, was pleasantly surprised at the display and could not hide his excitement as he soaked in the moment.
Otti was received at the door of his car by the parade commander as he alighted by the entrance gate to the Church premises. After a brief shout-out of introduction and pleasantries by the commander, he was ushered into the Church auditorium in a military style parade.
Even though the opportunity was laid for him to preach his political message of hope to Abians, through the congregation, Otti did not consider it expedient. Rather, he chose to ride on the theme of the event, ‘Awake!! Adventist Youths!!!’
Reading from the Bible book of Romans 13: 11-14, Otti, the founding Chairman of Signature Bank, the newest offering in Nigeria’s banking industry, encouraged the youths on the need to wake up and be alive to their responsibility as the hope for a better Abia State and indeed Nigeria.
He acceded to the request by the Church to help in equipping the youth ministry with a new set of musical instruments.
