Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Akwa Ibom Governor Udom Emmanuel are to grace the commissioning of an iconic building donated by the Alumni association of University of Lagos as part of activities to mark the Diamond Jubilee of the founding of the University .

The iconic, state-of-the-art Prof. Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe Building was donated to the association.
Named after the institutions late Vice Chancellor, Distinguished Professor Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe, OON, FAEng, the building is located along Tafawa Balewa Way in the Akoka main campus of the university.
In a statement by the Chairman of the Organising Committee and the First Vice President of the Alumni Association, Dr. (Chief) Fassy Adetokunboh Yusuf, he disclosed that the ceremony will be presided over by Mr. Udom Emmanuel, Governor of Akwa Ibom State and will be attended by alumni and alumnae of the University from all walks of life including the Pro-Chancellor of the university, Senator (Dr.) Lanre Tejuoso and Vice Chancellor, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola.
On Saturday, November 26, 2022, the Alumni Association will hold its Diamond edition of the Unilag Alumni Awards’ and Dinner with Vice President and distinguished alumnus, His Excellency, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON as the Chief Guest of Honour, and Alhaji Aliko Dangote as the Chairman.
Distinguished alumni and alumnae including the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Adewale Ajayi will be conferred with awards.
According to Yussuff,the event is designed to be a gathering of Unilags galaxy of most prominent alumni cum alumnae, and who is who in the country.
The occasion is holding at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
