…And PDP flags off campaign @Wike’s South South
Said he,”To decide against leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is enough sacrifice and a demonstrable example of my love for the party, without which, it would not only lose the opportunity of returning to power, but face complete collapse, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, declared on Friday in Port Harcourt.
The governor, who has been at loggerhead with the leadership of the main opposition party, after the presidential primaries declared to reporters at another media chat, that the second in recent weeks, where he addressed some of the burning issues in the party, maintained his position that the irreducible minimum in co-opting him and his camp into the presidential campaigns of Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the party for the 2023 election, was the exit of the National Chairman from the position.
Stating that his camp, which also has four other governors, including Seyi Makinde, Oyo, Samuel Ortom, Benue, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Enugu and his Abia State counterpart, Okezie Ikpeazu was so formidable that ignoring them would have devastating, consequences, Wike maintained that there was nothing difficult in exchanging Ayu’s position with a candidate from the South, no matter from which state.

Stressing that tAtiku, Ayu and the leadership of the party, were only taking an arrogant position in sticking to the status quo, he told the quartet of African Independent Television (AIT), Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), TV Continental (TVC) and Channels TV, whom he hosted in the Rivers State capital, he said: “If I leave the party today, PDP cannot win the election. If the five PDP governors say they are leaving today, we are not just ordinary governors, we are very committed and strong.
“There is nobody that want to win election and still continue the way they are doing. I have supported many states financially to win election in the past, including Plateau, Ondo, Cross Rivers and they cannot deny it.”
