Residents of the border area of Ogun state woke up Saturday morning to confront a fire inferno from a falling petrol tanker.

The petrol tanker has exploded at the Ajayi Farm Bus Stop area of Akute in Ogun State.
A video of the fire scene seen by the NPO Reports showed the explosion had sent many residents near the scene out of their homes.

As at the time of filing this report, no emergency officials had arrived at the scene.
At least, about ten buildings were razed by the raging fire as the content of the tanker spilled over a long distance forcing many residents to abandon their houses.
Officials of the fire service who later arrived at the scene ended the fire after battling with it for about one hour.
Already, victims are counting losses as house owners cry over the damage to their properties.
No life has been lost in the incident.
It was gathered that the tanker had fallen down while negotiating a bend spilling into the area its entire content.
An eye witness, who spoke with the NPO Reports, said a loud noise was heard and before anyone around could understand what was happening, a fire had started.
