Distinguished personalities in the International Healthcare sector; Prof. Adesegun Abudu of the Royal Hospital, Birmingham, U.K, the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Enahire; the Commissioner for Health, Lagos State, Prof Akin Abayomi and the Commissioner for Health, Ogun State, Dr. Tomi Coker among others, will be speaking at August Event being organised by St.Nicholas Hospital and holds tomorrow 24th August in Lagos.
They are to speak about the nation’s State of Healthcare system, the way forward.
The event is also to celebrate the late Chief (Dr.) M.A Majekodunmi’s, a former Administrator of Western region legacy and its CSR initiatives in Healthcare and Education sector.
Chairman, The August Event Planning Committee, Dr. Ebun Bamgboye said that “At this August Event 2022, we have brought together distinguished and seasoned medical experts from home and abroad to tackle this topical issue on the healthcare system in Nigeria and how we can move effectively from where we are now, to where we want to be; we are confident that with the panel discussions in place and the Continuous Medical Education lectures lined up; this event promises to be engaging and enlightening.
This year’s ‘August Event’ Bamgboye said is jointly organised by Chief (Dr.) Moses Adekoyejo Majekodunmi Foundation (M.A. Majekodunmi Foundation) in collaboration with St. Nicholas Hospital, is celebrating Chief (Dr.) Moses Adekoyejo Majekodunmi’s legacy on HealthCare and Education & St. Nicholas International accreditation by the Southern Council and the Nigerian Healthcare System: The Past, Present and the Future.
Government officials in the Health and Education Sector will deliberate on the practice Standard of Health and Education in Country and strategic solutions on the way forward.
The experts intend to identify the changes that have occurred in the Healthcare system by comparing what the Nation’s Healthcare system was created to achieve in a system that caters to the people and what it has been able to achieve thus far.
The August event 2022, held every two years, focuses on the work of the M.A. Majekodunmi Foundation and its corporate social responsibility initiatives in Healthcare and Education sector.
“It also sensitises participants to cutting-edge advances in Medicare with the St. Nicholas Hospital Continuous Medical Education lecture series. With this in mind, the event will also celebrate the International accreditation of the Hospital”, said Bamgboye.
On his part, Chairman, M.A. Majekodunmi Foundation, Mr Desmond Majekodunmi stressed that “We continue to celebrate on this his birth month, the life and legacy of our father, Dr. Moses Adekoyejo Majekodunmi- ten years after his passing to greater glory. He dedicated a greater portion of his life to developing the healthcare system in Nigeria and we are proud to continue collaborating with St. Nicholas Hospital (SNH) on the August Event lecture series”
