Three times world U20 female football champions, Germany were in the early hours of Wednesday neatly booted out of the group B current tournament in Alajuela Costa Rica as Mexico pipped the German machine 1-0 in the last group match.

Germany lost to Columbia 0-1 in the opening game, and beat Newzealand 3-0 in the second game.
Germany won the title at Thailand 2004; hosted and won in 2010 and won Canada 2014. America won the maiden edition in Canada 2002; won Chile 2008 and Japan 2012.
Columbia in a simultaneous game played this time in San Jose before a crowd of 3,378 fans under Ref Tori Pension of USA played 2-2 draw with Newzealand.
Columbia played with ten girls from 42nd minute when Quejada Minora was red carded.
It was a pulsating game which Columbia would have won clearly but for loss of concentration as Clegg got the curtain raiser for Newzealand in 3rd minute; Caicedo equalised in the 10th minute; and when Caicedo got her brace in the 63rd minute (brace means two goals in a match), Lancaster spoilt the party for the Columbians when she slammed in the equaliser in the 71st minute. 2-2 the match ended.
Columbia topped group B with 5 points just like Mexico but clinched it on tie breaker rules having scored 3 goals and conceded 2 against Mexico that scored 2 goals and conceded just a goal.
Score board saw Germany lost to Columbia 0-1 in first match when Newzealand played 1-1 with Mexico; Germany beat Newzealand 3-0 in second group game while Mexico and Columbia played goalless.
Columbia will face runners up of group A while Mexico will face winners of Group A in the quarter final.
