Bishop David Oyedepo of the Winners Chapel has declared that except the Lord is no longer on the throne, the church in Nigeria will never be under attack again.
He made this declaration during his sermon on the mystery of vengeance in the special prayer meeting he organised for the intervention of God in the affairs of the nation.
Prayers were made for Nigeria to be peaceful and prosperous again, for the church of God in Nigeria to stand strong, and for the judgment of God to fall on all the wicked leaders and agents of terrorism in the land.
After the prayers, the Bishop taught that the church was the bride of Christ, and any normal person will react if his bride was molested.
He read from Psalm 94:1-9, which says;
“O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.
“Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.
“Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?
“How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?
“They break in pieces thy people, O Lord, and afflict thine heritage.
“They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
“Yet they say, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.
“Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?
“He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?”
He revealed that God was not sleeping when they committed their evil acts, and he will never allow the wicked go unpunished. He declared that because the church is the bride of Christ and the apple of God’s eyes, whoever touches her will see the red eyes of God.
