Somewhere in many of us on this platform, there is a truly great political analyst. In our heads, to be precise. To me, that is clear from the intense delight/ire that Tinubu is provoking.
People who confuse the voices in their heads with that of the president were certain that Tinubu wasn’t getting the ticket and following Adamu’s trick with Ahmed Lawan, they were testicle-tremblingly delighted at the inerrancy of their prediction until things went tits up.
Battle for Tinubu’s running mate hots up in North
The juggernaut whooped everyone. Now, analyses-rightly-have moved to who the running mate should be, given that he’s a southern Muslim. Of course, those who want him to lose or who are certain that he lost as he was handed the ticket are the loudest voices demanding that his running mate be a Christian. There’s a whiff of dishonesty here.
You were opposed to him running, distressed by the fact that he got the ticket, wish that he’d lose or has lost before the ballot, but pretend to care about him ensuring religious balance on his ticket. Strange. Make up your mind. Are you actually interested in balance or desirous to see him make a move that’d lessen his chances? Without choosing a Northern Muslim running mate, one with some name recognition, he’s cooked in the North.

Down here, even with the latter day religious divisions, we’re less wedded to religion. That you are not a fan entitles you to wish he’d make the wrong move, but be honest about that instead of doing lika dis lika dat and lying that you give a toss about religious balance.
I am no Tinubu fan. I can’t be a fan of a man who wanted to make his company the revenue consultant to Lagos State in perpetuity via legislation. I never see that kind thing before. But make we dey try dey honest small.
