A court in Abuja on Wednesday ordered an end to the restrictions placed on the movement of the publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore.

The court said the restriction on his movements was excessive therefore setting aside the decision which came into force since 2019.
The publisher, who is also the convener of the Revolution Now Movement was restricted to Abuja by a Federal High Court.

This followed charges of treasonable felony and cyberstalking Presiden Muhammadu Buhari among other offences.

The Appeal Court ruled that Sowore could now leave Abuja but not travel out of Nigeria.
The court said that the restriction of the 2023 presidential aspirant to Abuja was “excessive”, and therefore, lifted it.
