As the Owu kingmakers are set to vote for one of the seven candidates selected by the Otileta Ruling house to fill the vacant stool of Olowu,the Country Club of Owu has called on the kingmakers to elect only popular,qualified and competent candidate among the pack.
In a statement made Thursday,the group urged the kingmakers to elect only a candidate “with a very good track record who could unite the entire kingdom and bring about the much desired developmental programme,peace and stability to the four corners of the Owu kingdom.”
To achieve this,the club also called for election of a young vibrant Olowu who would use his youthful energy as is the vogue all over the world.
According to the Club,there is need for the kingmakers to carry out the selection process in a transparent manner.
“At this critical point what Owu sons and daughters want is someone who can drive the development agenda of the land and bring about message of hope of the entire kingdom” the statement signed by its President,Chief Nurudeen Oketokun and Secretary, Chief Adesina Akinpelu.
