Five more candidates from Sokes family compound,one of the five families that made the Otileta Ruling house have signified their interest to contest for the vacant stool of Olowu of Owu Abeokuta.
The names of the candidates are,Prince Adesina Adelani,Prince Solomon Kayode Owookade,Prince Moroof Aremu Owonla and Prince Adewunmi Samuel Gbogboade Newdawnngr.com sources close to the family has revealed.
The candidates are to slug it out with others who had earlier signified interest by submitting their letter of intent to the head of the Family.
According to the rules,the family head of each of the families will select those deemed qualify among the candidates and send their names to the Owu Kingmakers council who inturn will vote among themselves to select the best candidate and forward his name to the state government for ratification according to the states Chieftancy law.
The Kingmakers have till March 15 to conclude the selection exercise and inform the ministry of Chieftancy Affairs accordingly.
