He told Newdawnngr.com that the various newspapers and journals now on the newsstands are designed as part of the practical training content and requirements for partial fulfillment for the award of degrees by the institution.
The uniqueness of the various journals which range from specialist newspaper on Health,Food Security,Life style,Politics and Events is that the form, content and production is also meant to give practical expression to the academic teaching the students in the department have acquired over the years .

Since the newspapers and magazines are focused on several aspects of society, students as Reporters and Correspondents horned their knowledge on the beats assigned to them as student communicators and journalists.
The journals in terms of content and production are designed in such a way that they are offered for sale not only in the campus but also on newstands.
Beside the 16 page tabloids, the department also produced at least five different full -colour quality magazines with contents to suit it’s name.
Among the publications are: Radiance Newsmakers-A people oriented magazine; On stage-a magazine with focus on the Nollywood Industry; Airwaves- a Radio,Television and Online journal produced by students who specialize in Broadcasting.
The department last December also produced it’s first edition of a Public relations journal,Brands &Images – a full colored quarterly production.
Brands and Images is a Public Relations niche magazine that focuses on professionals in the Public Relations industry,Products and several Brands, brands management and sustainability.
Dr Adesina whose graduates has over the years won many laurels both local and international said the essence of the practical training and publications is to train the students to be able to develop their enterpreneural skills in whatever area of interest in the media that suits their skills.
For instance,Brand &Images, in it’s maiden edition December 2021, featured interview with corporate players in Brand &Marketing industry,Tours and Content development.
To show that charity begins at home, the maiden edition did a branding of the institutions College of Health sciences. The magazine also published a feature article on Adire, the local fabric of the Egba people focusing on it being a Cultural tool for Nigerias Image industry.

In all, Crescent University new focus on practical training and entrepreneurship is a great Leap in redefining mass communication teaching as it would definitely address challenges of the media media industry at a time jobs are no longer there for the take.
It is also important to note that the attendant challenges in the media industry could be solved as new sets of graduates produced are enterpreneural driven media practitioners in their own right who are trained to be employers of labour in their chosen area of specialisation the media industry.
Said Dr Adesina,,”we are training them to be job creators and not job seekers because that is the future of the world. We don’t want our graduates to be left behind in the scheme of things after leaving school.
The jobs are not just there so let them be trained to face the future with confidence in their acquired skills.”
